Joining a match
Does it cost anything to play?
No. Every match on Rivora is free to enter, always. There is no wallet, no entry fee and nothing to buy. Prizes come from the prize pool the organizer or a sponsor puts up for that match.
Who can join?
Anyone in India aged 18 or over with the match's game installed: BGMI, Free Fire MAX or COD Mobile. Players under 18 must not register, take part or submit personal information — by registering you confirm you are 18 or older.
Which games can I play on Rivora?
BGMI, Free Fire MAX and COD Mobile. Every match is a custom room in one game — the match card and the match page say which. COD Mobile matches are Battle Royale rooms.
Free Fire matches are played on Free Fire MAX: Free Fire India has not launched, and the original Free Fire is not available in India.
How do I join a match?
Open Matches and pick one marked Registration open, then tap Join this match — or a team in the room with an open seat. The first time you'll sign in with Google or email and come straight back. Say who's playing, give your name in that game exactly as it is in the game and your mobile number, and tap Join. It takes under a minute.
Do I need an account?
Yes. Sign in with Google in one tap, or with an email and password. Your account is where the room ID and password are shown to you, and where your matches, results and alerts live.
Why do you ask for my mobile number?
So the organizer can reach you about the match — a slot mix-up on match day, a room that had to be re-created. It is used for nothing else, is stored encrypted, and is never shown to other players.
Why do you ask me to turn on alerts?
Because the room ID and password appear only minutes before the start, and the alert is how you hear they are ready. On a team match we ask right after you join; a few matches ask before. Connect Telegram or push notifications when the screen asks; if you already have, it says so. You can pick what each channel may interrupt you for in Notification settings.
Can I leave a match after joining?
While registration is open, yes — tap Leave under your card. Your spot goes back to the match, along with any seats you kept for friends who had not joined yet, and you can register again while registration stays open. After it closes, tell the organizer in #help on the Rivora Discord or on WhatsApp, so your slot can go to someone else.
Teams and friends
How do I play with my friends?
Tap Join this match and choose who's playing — Me + 1, Me + 2 or Me + 3. We keep that many seats in your team for an hour and give you one team link to share on WhatsApp. Each friend opens it, signs in and taps Join Team — you never type anyone's name.
What happens if a friend doesn't take their seat?
After an hour the seat opens to anyone, so someone else can play. We remind you 15 minutes before. Your team link still works while your team has room, so a friend who comes late still joins you — and Invite a friend on your card keeps another seat. Open seats go to other players who join, so your team may be completed with players you don't know; if nobody comes, your team plays with the players it has.
I'm on my own — will I get a team?
Yes. Choose Just me, or tap a team in the room with an open seat. You're in a team straight away, and your card and the room show it. Players are only added to it; it changes only if someone needs a place and there's no other way in, and then we tell you. Teams are final when registration closes.
Can I keep my team to just my friends?
Only the seats you keep. Each kept seat is your friend's for one hour, or until registration closes if that's sooner. Open seats, and kept seats nobody took in time, can go to other players who join. Bring your whole squad — choose the full squad when you join — to play as your own team.
Can I save my squad so I don't send a link every time?
Yes. On your profile, tap Make a squad, name it — the name becomes your team's name in a match — and send its link to your friends once. After that, on any match, tap Join this match, pick your squad under Who's playing, untick anyone who can't make it and tap Join with your squad. Everyone ticked is in at once and gets an alert; anyone you add can leave while registration is open. A player can be in up to 5 squads.
Who can change the team?
Anyone on the team can rename it, keep another seat with Invite a friend, or leave from their own card. Whoever joined with friends can, under Manage, open a friend's kept seat to anyone or take a friend off the team — the seat stays kept for an hour for someone else, and they are told. A seat you kept yourself, you can always open.
How do I remove someone from my team?
Only the player who joined with friends can, and only the players they brought: friends who joined through their team link, or players they added with their squad. On the match page, open your card, tap Manage, then Remove next to the name. They're told, and can still join the match on their own. Their seat stays kept for your team for an hour, so you can send your link to another friend.
Players who took an open seat themselves, or whom Rivora placed in your team, aren't yours to remove. To save a seat for a friend, choose Me + 1, Me + 2 or Me + 3 when you join, or tap Invite a friend on your card. The seat is kept for an hour, or until registration closes if that's sooner, and your friend takes it by opening your team link. To play with nobody else, bring your full squad. You can only remove players while registration is open.
Match day
Where do I find the room ID and password?
At the top of the match page, a few minutes before the start. When they are ready you get an alert; open the match and the room card is the first thing on the page — your team slot in big type, then the ID and password with Copy buttons.
Why isn't the room ID in the alert itself?
Because a message can be forwarded. The room ID and password stay on the match page behind your login, where only registered players can see them, so the room is not flooded by people who never registered.
Which slot do I sit in?
The team slot number on the room card. Sit in that one only — your teammates join the same slot. Sitting in someone else's slot is the most common reason a room has to be re-created.
Which map do I need?
The match page names the map. Download it — ideally all the major maps — before match day. If the room opens while your map is still downloading you will miss the match; we cannot hold a room while a download finishes.
Is anything in the game banned?
Yes. Some things may not be used in any Rivora match. The Banned items page shows each one with a picture, and what happens to a team that uses it. Not sure about something? Ask in #help on the Rivora Discord before the match, not after.
What time zone are the match times in?
Indian Standard Time, everywhere on the site. Each match page shows the start time and a countdown, and the strip under the title shows where you are: Joined → Teams final → Room details → Live → Results.
Where do updates about a match appear?
At the bottom of that match's page, under Updates from the organizer, and in your inbox — the bell at the top of the page. Each update also reaches you as an alert the moment it is posted. News for every player is on the Announcements page.
Prizes and results
How is a team prize split?
A placement prize (1st, 2nd and so on) is the total for the whole team, split evenly — a squad match's 1st-place ₹100 is ₹25 for each of the four players. A solo match pays the placement prize to the one player who earns it. Per-kill rewards, on matches that have them, are kept entirely by whoever gets the kill. Each match page shows its exact breakdown, including each player's share.
How do I get paid?
By UPI, sent by the organizer after the results are published. Add a UPI ID or a UPI-linked phone number in your profile — one is enough, and you can add it after you win. Neither is ever shown publicly.
When are results published?
After the match, once the organizer has entered every team's placement and kills. You get an alert, the results appear on the match page, and the Stats leaderboards update. The Matches page keeps every completed match.
My result is wrong. What do I do?
Tell the organizer in #help on the Rivora Discord (open a private thread) or on WhatsApp, with a screenshot of the final standings from the game if you have one. Published results can be corrected.
Your account and privacy
Can I change my BGMI name?
Once, yourself, in your profile — so copy it exactly as it is in the game: it is how the organizer finds you in the room and in the results. Use the name, not the numeric player ID. After that one change the name is locked; to change it again, message the admin on the Rivora Discord. A name can change once a month. Your Free Fire MAX and COD Mobile names follow the same rule, each on its own.
I play more than one game. Do I need a name for each?
Yes. Your name is different in each game, and the organizer looks for the name in the match's game. Your BGMI name goes at the top of your profile; your Free Fire MAX and COD Mobile names go in their own rows below it. The first time you join a match in a game, the join form asks for that name.
You do not need a BGMI name to play Free Fire MAX or COD Mobile. One account and one mobile number cover every game.
BGMI gave my account a timeout. Can I play from another account?
Yes, if it is your own second BGMI account. Add it once in your profile, under Second BGMI account: its BGMI name, and for tournaments its UID, level and tier. Then pick it when you join a match, or switch on the match page any time before the match starts. The organizer looks for that name in the room, and your results still count as yours.
Its name follows the same rule as your main one: you can change it once yourself, then only the admin can, on Discord. In a tournament the organizer checks the second account first, like your main. Until it is checked you play on your main.
What can other players see about me?
Only your in-game names — on match rosters, results and the leaderboards. Your email, mobile number and UPI details are never shown to anyone. To stay off the roster before a match, untick Show my in-game name on match rosters in your profile; results and leaderboards still list the name you played under.
How do I stop or change alerts?
In Notification settings you can disconnect a channel or choose what it may interrupt you for. On Telegram, sending /stop to the bot unlinks it. Keep in mind that a match needs at least one channel connected before you can join.
Is there an app?
Rivora works as one from your home screen: open Settings and tap Rivora on your home screen. Room alerts then land where you'll see them, and the site opens full screen like an app.
